A Big Bob’s Big Boy
We were always on the lookout for unrestored fiberglass Bob’s Big Boy statues when we where in the restoration business. So when we were offered one at a good price about seven years ago, we said “Sure, we’ll take it”. But when the truck showed up with the delivery, it was a bit of a surprise. It seems the guy who was working for me at the time didn’t think to ask how big it was when buying it. In all fairness to him, we did not know there was a larger version of good old Bob. The two we had restored to that point were about eight feet tall, but this one was north of fourteen feet. He was so big I think they had to cut off the hamburger to ship him. In any case, we never restored him. It was just too much work. Someone ended up buying him unrestored and I am sure he is still out there smiling away somewhere.

Keep an eye on ebay, they seem to show up now and then.

saw your storie on the 14 ft tall big boy statue, was wondering if you know who purchase it or how i can get ahold of the person. i have a fruit market and am looking for a big boy statue the larger the better. the fact that the burger was removed would suit my interest. i am interested in placing a large fiberglass basket with fruit over flowing the basket on top of his hand. if you can help please get back to me. thanks for your time, johnny

We don’t have the information on who purchased the statue. We found the unrestored Big Boy on ebay. Occasionally one will pop up on ebay or Craig’s list, so keep checking back with them.

I didn’t know if anyone was still checking these posts but I do have a 1950’s unrestored 8 ft Manner’s Big Boy up on ebay right now if anyone’s interested. Should be live at 5pm eastern.

Does your statue have Big Boy with his arms resting on his belly? If so, that is the Older 1950’s-style Bob, “Suspender” Bob, not the “Hamburger” Bob. So it is real.
