Have a chance to buy a Vendo 44 and a square top loader as well as a 1960’s machine with a glass door that is in rough condition. The other 2 are nearly perfect working condition. 2100.00 for all 3. I read where the 44 is worth up to 5K in good condition which this one is.

I own a Coke machine and I have looked at dozens of machines on dozens of sites and and I can’t find another machine like mine. It does not have a square top or a rounded top it has a semi rounded top. It dispenses the small coke bottles by pushing a handle. It does not have any glass on it, just a primarily red box with a small amount of white on top.

I restored it in 2005 and the guy that restored it told me it was a very collectible machine and he offered to purchase it. Now I am moving and want to sell the machine but can’t find his card. Is there anyone that can tell me what this machine is if I send them a picture. I have placed it on Craigs list but the first question is what model is it.

Over the years, I’ve sort of “ended up” with 2 older “square top” Coke machines that I know NOTHING about. I live on some acreage out in the country north of Baton Rouge and have a lot of room, so—when someone wants to get rid of some bulky item—it often ends up w/ me. One is a Cavalier 64J and the other appears to be a Westinghouse model 102MD, also called a Dial a Drink machine by some. Although they fire up and the compressors seem to work, there are thermostat challenges and other repairs needed. There should be a plate on the side, or possibly rear, of the machine. They’re usually pretty obvious, so if you’re asking, it’s probably been removed. Check out pictures on line to get an idea of what it might be.

Every now and then, local Coke bottlers will make limited production runs of the small bottles. I ran across cases of them in Georgia several years ago, and here in Reno, they make them every year to commemorate Hot August Nights ( an annual celebratation of old cars and music of the 50’s and 60’s. I collect the empties whenever I can, and plan on re-filling them with my own “brew”.

For lost keys, you can either try to purchase a key that matches the lock number on your machine, or you can replace the lock mechanism. This requires drilling the lock, turning it with a flat head screwdriver to open it, removing the lock, and replacing it.

As well as many other people on this blog, I also have a vendo 44 cooler. It was bought brand new for my parents shop and after they retired it came to me, I have kept many a beverage ice cold in it and have the key to lock it still…..

i have a vendo 110 with no temp- control button. i have two wire ends and a round metal wire which i think controls the temp. i looked at pic of vendo 110 and i see they can a control button where these two wires are sticking out next to this round wire which i think is a thermostat. please help me 805-953-4703. david

Paint color

When we restored machines we used PPG Dodge Red DCC70002 and Linen White DCC2185. Keep in mind these are what we liked and are not the official paint color that was called for back when they where originally manufactured.
