Here are some photos of a great Gulf Oil display we once owned. We really did not do much to it as far as restoration goes besides giving it a good cleaning. This is an unusual piece and I would guess it could have been found in the corporate offices of a refinery or maybe given as an award to certain dealers? If you have any information please blog-in and let us know. We do not own this anymore but had the photos and wanted to share them.

I’ve got 2 Gulf Oil Co. employee service pins that my Great-grandfather recieved back in the 60’s (or sometime around then). One is for 30 yrs of service & has 3- 1mm diamonds set in 10k gold. The other is for 35yrs of service & has 3- 1mm diamonds & 1- 1mm ruby set in 10k gold.
I can’t reach the manufactrurer (L. G. Balfour) by phone or e-mail & was wondering if anyone knows the value of these pins… …I’m interested in selling them.

Shane,
We are not able to give an estimate on the value of your pin. If anyone else can help, please comment.

I know that a 30-year pin on e-bay went for like $300 and a 10-year is going for like $150. However, my grandfathers 25 year pin that my grandmother made into ring for me is appraised for like $600 or something like that.
