Coca-Cola In Mexico

Help Us Identify Our Coke Cooler

We have added information in the Retroplanet Museum about our coolers. One of these is a Coca-Cola cooler from Mexico that we know very little about. Take a look and see if you might be able to help identify the name of the manufacturer and the approximate date.

Laura, Unfortunately, this was all the info we were able to find for this machine. It appears to be a rare item.

Hi. I have one of these machines like this one but not exact. First of all I’d like to start by properly translating the meaning of BIEN FRIA this means REAL COLD (NOT) Good Cold. We all know soda is good cold but it wouldn’t sound right in Spanish, the translation of ice cold. So it was labeled BIEN FRIA. The maker is Mundiel. This is the most famous Mexican soda making company in MEX. I also have the Model # and Series and year which are all in Spanish. This was a company making machines with the US. On my VIN tags it says Vendo and Mundiel in English. I’m currentlly restoring mine but my students completely destroyed the hinges because of the very heavy rust on them. Now I’m having trouble replacing them. Would love to share pics and info for a pair of hinges in exchange if possible please :)

    Carlos,
Thank-you so much for the information about the Coke cooler made in Mexico, as well as the correct translation for “Bien Fria”. It’s so great to get this information. Unfortunately, we are no longer in the restoration business, so we would be unable to help you with the replacement hinges. Maybe someone reading this blog can help? Best of luck to you and your students with your restoration!

If anyone can help Carlos locate replacement hinges for a Mundiel Coca-Cola machine, please email him at Calopez@pvlearners.net
