I grew up on Fairhill Street, (2820 to be exact), and Lusse was a few doors down at 2809 Fairhill St. It was so much fun watching the guys work on these wonderful cars and seeing the finished product. They allowed the locals the opportunity to come into their factory and see first hand had it was all done … I will never forget this experience as it is not only part of my childhood, but part of history. Thank you Lusse Brothers for the great memories!!

Hi. I have 23 German Dodgem Cars made in the early 60’s. They are still in working condition.
I also have a set of 15 Lusse Auto Scooters that were made in England in the early 1950’s under
licence of Lusse America. The parts were made pre War as in 1939. All production stopped for the War and parts were stored. After the War with Italian Competition Lusse was forced to change to Fiberglass Bodies to compete. All
trims etc were sent to England. All drives rear axle and iron wheels were the same and interchangeable with the 1939 cars. The difference with my cars are that the housings of the motors are cast iron and not aluminium as the U.S.A cars are. The motors are made in England and are 100vDC not A.C as in the U.S.A.
So these cars are quite rare.
Please let me know if you are interested in them or know of someone who may be.

They work great with reverse too.And2 street cars, built on reinforced golf cart frames and titles, motor cycle engines, very fun. OVER 25 YEARS AGO A FRIEND OF MINE HAD A LUSSE SKOOTER BUMPER CAR. I THOUGHT IT LOOKED A LOT LIKE A 1953 CHEVY PICKUP (GRILL). HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING IT INTO A TRAILER FOR HIS STREETROD. i have a 1950? era go kart/bumper car.i am
told it came from riverview amusement park
in chicago.it seats two,with a center steering
wheel,has two rear wheels and one front
wheel.It has an outer steel frame like a
bumper car but it has it’s own engine like a
go-kart.it’s shape and paint looks like a cross
between a bullet and a shark.it is brown with
white gills and a chrome grill with rear running
lights.it runs,needs some work but i do not know
what it is go/bumper.any thoughts>?????
