Hello everyone! I recently rescued a Heinz double door from a scrap metal dealer for the outrageous sum of $4o. The cooling unit is missing and the tub looks like a screen door. I've taken it all apart and sandblasted everything. I'm lining the tub with .016 stainless sheet metal, using gray silicone to seal the corners. I was wondering if they came any other way than all white. Mine only has Pepsi-Cola pressed into the lids. I am going to put it in my old 30's style Filling Station that I built. Anyone have any thoughts. Mel Parks, Colorado. My email address is tractormel@sopris.net

My Dad operated an old country store for 50+yrs. I have an old Pepsi drink box in very good condition with motor intact. The drinks kept cold by sitting in the water compartment and you would reach in, grab the bottle right out of the cold water, open and enjoy. It was made by True Mfg Co Inc out of St. Louis, MO Has a sliding top, the Pepsi blue color and still sits in his old store building. Would like more information such as value and how to sell. My email address is lewwells@embarqmail.com

I have an old gullwing that has a little surface rust and the paint is fair. It has no compressor or motor but it appears there are tubes in the cooler box as there are fittings that protrude out of the bottom. What kind of compressor would fit and where would I get one? Thanks

DEAN VON BLOHN

if its the coin operated Version as shown above You SCORED a HOMERUN they are VERY RARE, especially if it has the inside guts that allow the bottles to convey around before they come out the top,
They can go for over $20,000 the last one i saw went for $25,000 but that was before the economy crashed,

DONT LET SOMEONE RIP YOU OFF FOR LESS,,, ITS VERY RARE!!!!!

Try selling it at the Chicago Show, thats where all the big wigs in the soda machine collectors field go or Ebay

if its an Electric non coin version WITH NO COIN mech, ive seen them go for $4,500-7,000 thats if it has the ORIGINAL compressor, if it has a new compressor $3,500-4,500

Also for you guys looking for GULLWING DECAL'S, take your machine to the guy who makes the decals for the local police cars or ambulance vans.
He can trace them and make them for you, Thats how I had the one's for my machine made.

I have four of the coin operated universal coolers, One came from canada, one from texas, one from nebraska, one from missouri. all are missing the vending conveyor units, but have 8 motor/gear box drive units for the convey. they made two different gear boxes. have around 10 or 11 coins extra. I am looking for other parts for the conveyor. Universal cooler had a coveror credit program. If you needed a new conveyor unit. you order one and when came put the bad unit in the box and ship it back for credit. Just after ww2 they sent out a letter saying they have too many core units and they will not be accepting core bad units. because they had too many of them. Think how many of the conveyor assembly were junked. :( I know about 1250 whole machines were scraped due to war order. units that were made before the war order that didn't have a purchase order were now the government's.

Dwayne,
We aren't able to give estimates on the value of an item. If you keep an eye on Ebay or Craig's List, your item is sure to be listed at some point. That may give you a rough idea of it's value but keep in mind prices vary greatly depending on condition. If anyone can help with a value of this item please comment.

Just came across this site in search of finding the value of a vintage pepsi cooler like the one above. Not coin operated with the double sided lid. Exactly like the above otherwise. Does it have any value?

I have one, it is missing some pieces and has a touch of rust on it. It belonged to my Great Grandparents. They use to own a service station. I just got it, it has been in storage for years and i would love to know how to refurbish it. If anyone can help me i could send photos of it. Thanks

Best of luck

Hi Bud,
sounds like you have a Heintz " Gullwing ". It is just a different version of the cooler we are showing. It opens from the top and was available as an ice box or with refrigeration.

I have one similar, but not coin operated. It is shaped like the above pictured one but the top is a split door with one door being able to be opened and the other left shut. Made by Heintz MFG- Philadelphia, PA Serial number 3059. NEED original pictures of this product so I can see the correct colors of the box.
