Jungle Larry’s Safari, a zoo/botanical garden in in Southwest Florida had one of these machines near the Grandstand that overlooked the lagoon.

It was there in the ’70s. The facility has gone through some changes, but it is still a small zoo and the machine may be there somewhere.

I have a vintage popcorn machine that belonged to my father that passed away back in ‘77. I don’t think it’s a “Boy-Oh-Boy” brand, but I have a pic to send and can take more if necessary. I remember going with him on the weekends to service 20 of them back when I was around 8 or 10, so I’m thinking that it is probably around 50 yrs. old. I saw one of these on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (rest area) in 1962 when I was 12… it was the coolest machine I’d ever seen.

Popcorn tasted a little stale, but who cared??? It was neeeeaaattt…

These are something else! I just bought one of these thing for kicks at a garage sale for 65 bucks. This one I bought was by Gold Medal (still around). We brought it home and just by looking at it I could tell it wasn’t going to work. Plugged it in, light came on, put in a dime, and the old rust bucket worked. Smelled like ozone, but worked! Now I just need to find replacement parts for it which should prove difficult.

does anyone know if any way to produce a proffitable pop corn machine or build one with differetn component but i want to make it fully automatic only reload the bags and the pop corn.

my plan is to open a vending machine business of 35 – 40 machines includes 4 pop corn machine. i am waiting now just for the best offer i can get.
