The Cole-Spa Hermetic vending machine was a 3-flavor cold drink dispenser. This machine was made in the late 40’s and early 50’s. The term “hermetic” referred to the fact that the machine was sealed, the idea being that fewer things should break down, resulting in fewer service calls.

The Cole-Spa was capable of vending 630 cups. It could vend hot cocoa or hot soup with the addition of an attachment available from the manufacturer. There was a handy round mirror at the top of the machine, so you could check your hair or lipstick while your drink was dispensing.

These machines seem to have done very well, according to their brochure: “Chicago’s Northcenter Theatre reports tripled profits with Cole-Spa.” Apparently in an attempt to link their company identity with the world’s most successful soft drink company, the Cole Products Corp. created a logo that very closely resembles the logo used for Coca-Cola, even using the Coca-Cola’s Company’s characteristic white type on a red background.

Not only have I seen one, but have one. It is a six/6 flvaor dispenser machine last priced at 10 cents a cup in 1953-57? The last service sticker reads 1967. I believe it is complete and have no idea as to it’s functionality. The machine has four tanks and cup carousel, and…. well it is neat and looks to be worth the effort it might require to restore. Anyone interested call 563-263-4661. It is heavy too!

I have a Cole Spa, Magniflo “1200″ service manual. This belonged to my father-in-law; he maintained a home-town theatre. Most likley had this dispenser in the concession area.
I am just trying to find someone that would have a use for it. Also has three “Dr Pepper” and one “Green River” round ‘label’ inserts.
If you can pay for the postage, you can have it. Thought about sellin on eBay, but found this site.
Again, all I want is the shipping/postage to send it to you and it is all yours.
Has also “Instructions for installing National’s Simplex cup dispenser” and a couple other odd parts lists and manuals.

I have a Cole Spa Dispenser Model SP Type 100 serial 3370 complete. It was working when removed from a theater back in the early sixties. It has been stored ever since. I would like to sell it but I don’t know it’s value. Can anyone comment on this?
