Atlas ColSnac Ice Cream Vendor

The 1950’s Atlas ColSnac Ice Cream Vendor allowed merchandisers to sell ice cream bars on a stick at locations other than the grocery store. These would have been placed at locations such as filling stations, pharmacies and similar venues. As the ad says, “ColSnac gives you the opportunity to open up a vast new market…”, in addition to the business that the proprietor was already engaged in. With a coin slot and built-in change-maker, these units would have been self-serve so the customer could help themselves to an icy cold ice cream.

I have an old stainless steel countertop Pepsi dispenser. I believe you turned the knob one way to dispurse the syrup, and the other way for the selzer water. I have never seen another one of these on line or in a pepsi catalog. Can you tell me anything about it and what it might be worth? It’s in mint condition w/ all the parts.

We aren’t able to give estimates on the value of an item. If you keep an eye on Ebay or maybe Craig’s List, your item is sure to be listed at some point. That may give you a rough idea of it’s value but keep in mind to compare apples to apples. Prices vary greatly depending on condition. If anyone can help with a value of this item please blog in.

I have one of these vendors. Bought it a few weeks ago. It is very neat. Still runs! I would like to get a copy of this sales sheet. Is that possible?

I don’t have an Atlas vending machine, but I have the best floor fan ever made (an Atlas). I bought it in about 1963 and have used it every summer since. I have never oiled it and has never needed repairing through all those years. It’s across the room right now keeping me cool. Makes very little noise so I let it run all night and all day when I’m home. It carries the brand name, etc. as follows: “Bellaine/Atlas Tool & Manufacturing Co./5147 Natural Bridge, St. Louis, Mo.
